Bringing Science to the People
NanoGagliato 2019At NG19, 28 STEM professionals, anthropologists, journalists, humanitarians, and venture capitalists from around the world gathered in Gagliato in July for four days of thought and celebrations. Roundtable discussions focused on new frontiers in nanomedicine and #science4globaljustice. A concurrent NanoPiccola program welcomed children from around the region for hands-on science experiments and a chance to meet the scientists. After the main conference, the group went to Matera, an 8,000-year-old city in southern Italy’s Basilicata region. Known for its ancient city of cave dwellings, Matera is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the European Cultural Capital for 2019.
