NanoGagliato

NanoGagliato is a first-of-its-kind scientific conference merging intense but informal discussion, STEM education for youths, technological problem-solving, artistic expression, and a solid dose of fun and exploration in vibrant southern Italian coastal communities. What began in 2008 as a gathering of friends and nanoscience experts has transformed into an annual celebration bringing together scientists, physicians, humanitarians, communicators, government leaders, venture capitalists, and of course, the people of Gagliato and its surrounding communities, for five-days of scientific exchange, dissemination and education. NanoGagliato remains anchored to its nanoscience roots, with each conference exploring new facets of the question, how can nanoscience – especially nanomedicine – help solve our world’s most pressing problems?

NanoGagliato & NanoPiccola 2022

27 – 31 July 2022
Gagliato, Italy

Theme: Innovating with Nature: Advances in mRNA, DNA, and More

We are excited to reunite with our friends in Gagliato this summer to continue our shared mission of collaborating for the betterment of humankind. As in 2021, we will work with local health authorities and national and international guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our guests and hosts.

This year’s conference theme is inspired by one of the silver linings of the COVID-19 pandemic: the rise of mRNA technology. Indeed, the development of mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 may have been nanotechnology’s finest hour (thus far!), and highlights the extraordinary promise of using nanotechnology to work with nature to achieve groundbreaking advances in human and world health. Thus, this summer we will explore the theme of “Innovating with Nature: Advances in mRNA, DNA, and More.” Panelists from multiple disciplines and representing several countries will gather to share ideas and spark collaborations to make that vision for the future a reality. Concurrent NanoPiccola events will be held for school children (ages 5 – 14) to learn about nanotechnology and participate in hands-on experiments.
